Adding extra cover for Winter Sports is easy – just choose what type of policy suits you best!

• Single Trip with Winter Sports: 
  Valid for single trips of up to 87 days with 17 days of skiing (ages 2 - 65)
• Annual cover with Winter Sports: 
  For multiple holidays throughout the year of up to 45 days each, with a maximum of 17 days for skiing per year (ages 2 - 65)
• Backpacker cover with Winter Sports: 
  Continuous trips for 2 years with up to a maximum of 17 days per policy for skiing (ages 19 - 45)

Winter Sports Medical Insurance

By adding winter sports to your Single, Annual or Backpacker policy you will be covered for emergency medical expenses that occur should you have an accident and require medical attention. You will also be covered for mountain rescue, helicopter rescue costs and repatriation.

Helmets are compulsory

As we are always concerned with your safety, it is now compulsory that you wear a helmet whilst participating in any winter sports activity to be covered on our policies. We truly believe it could save your life!

• Off Piste Skiing without a guide - Don’t want the guide? No problem, by adding Sports Grade 4 and Winter Sports to your quote, you will be covered for off piste skiing without the assistance of a guide

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

The EHIC grants you free or reduced cost medical treatment in EU countries.
However, its use is limited because:

• The EHIC can only be utilised for medical cover in state hospitals and at times access to state run hospitals may not be extensive.
• Specialist treatment in private medical centres is not covered, which could cause you problems as some resorts call private ambulances and you get taken straight to a private clinic.
• Repatriation is not included and you are not covered for holiday cancellations, baggage loss, legal expenses etc.

For this reason, it is essential to take out European Holiday Insurance for added safety.
